OSB loses structural integrity and swells when repeatedly wetted and dried; plywood can delaminate when the adhesive bonds between veneers are degraded by moisture. In a crawl space with chronically high humidity, the underside of the subfloor absorbs moisture from the air, not necessarily from direct water contact.

What we do is document the damage findings, provide moisture condition data that explains the cause, and install the encapsulation system that prevents continued moisture damage to the subfloor and any replacement panels.

If OBW isn't replacing the subfloor, why does the moisture fix still matter?

Because correcting the moisture source before subfloor replacement ensures the new panels remain serviceable.
