If you decide you want the backup added down the road, it's a straightforward addition rather than a second full installation.

What if I don't have a sump pit at all yet?

If your basement doesn't have one, OBW cores through the slab, excavates to the footer, installs the liner and gravel bed, and sets the pump, with the concrete patch included. The job typically takes one day.

If you already have an interior perimeter drain from a previous waterproofing job, the drain ties directly into the new sump pit. OBW confirms the connection is solid and the drain slope is correct before backfilling, so water moves from the perimeter to the pit without pooling at the connection point.

What happens if the system doesn't perform the way it's supposed to?

We test the pit and confirm the pump triggers at the correct level, shuts off correctly, and the discharge clears properly before we leave. Every sump installation OBW completes is backed by a written workmanship guarantee, terms vary by service, ask your inspector.
