What Makes a Jack "Adjustable"
A fixed steel column is set to one height and stays there. An Adjustable Smart Jack uses a telescoping steel post with a threaded actuator, allowing the jack's height to be fine-tuned after installation without removing and resetting the entire post. If a beam settles slightly, or Maryland's seasonal freeze-thaw cycle shifts the soil beneath a footing pad, the jack can be readjusted on site rather than replaced.
This isn't a cosmetic difference. A fixed column that's slightly under- or over-set at installation, or that needs correction months later as the structure settles into its new support, means removing it and installing a new one at the corrected height. An adjustable mechanism means that correction is a five-minute adjustment.
